Pirates Keep Dores on their Toes

MHS travelled over to RLS on Friday, October 26th. In order to give the Varsity team a little distance from North Salinas, MHS had to pull a "W." The first half showcased amazing work by forwards Erin Enea and Chelsea Persons. Early in the first half, Roxy Grillo set up an amazing shot on goal, allowing Persons to come in for the kill. The first half belonged to the Lady Dores. With about 10 minutes left in the second half, RLS caught our defense off guard, tying MHS 1-1. Determined to win, RLS put up a fight to the finish, keeping our forwards behind the 50. Overall, an amazing game, perhaps the most competitive all season for Varsity.

The one win for JV this season was against the RLS Pirates. The JV girls felt confident as they entered the field. They girls got off to a great start, scoring in the first five minutes of the game. Maddie Fitz found an opening and was able to make a strong flick for the first goal. The JV Dores owned the first half of the game. Sophmore forward, Audrey Casey, helped secure the second goal off an assist by Rochelle Werner. In the second half, the girls were able to flow through RLS defense, allowing Werner to break away with a goal, bringing the score to 3-0. Late in the second half, RLS found our back door wide open...final score 3-1.

Next game....last league game :( Tuesday, October 30th @ MHS vs. Catalina. Varsity 3:30/ JV 4:30.

See you in the mud!!
