MHS Varsity Hits Mid-Season 5-1-0

MHS began their fall break, leaving many holes in the Varsity line-up. With four games to play during the break, the Lady Dores may face some obstacles on their way to 2nd place in MTAL. After their victory over the Cougars of Santa Catalina, the Lady Dores proved that adversity only makes you hungry.

On October 9th, MHS travelled to Santa Catalina. The team straggled with only two subs. During warm-up, Sweeper Kelly Dunn (Sr.) sustained a knee injury, causing a gap in MHS's dependable defense. This left MHS with only one sub for the game. Nevertheless, the Lady Dores stepped it up, showing a great amount of "flow" between forwards Erin Enea and Chelsea Persons. Both Person and Enea scored, giving the "W" to MHS 2-0. This brings MHS to a 5-1-0 mid-season record, second place to Gilroy (7-0-0).

Coming off a big win last Monday against RLS, the JV team seemed to be in the "zone" for another win. The JV ladies put up a great fight, but the JV Cougars were more persistent, scoring in the last two minutes of the game. Great effort by goalie Isabella Martinez with five saves.
